みつとみ俊郎は、人と人をつなぐフルーティストであり、音楽のコミュニケーターです。

アメリカとフランス、日本を中心に、デトロイト交響楽団などのオーケストラ、スタジオミュージシャンとしてさまざまな録音現場で活動してきたフルート奏者、音楽プロデューサー、ライター、そして指揮者。

これまでに、「ファイナルファンタジー」などのゲーム音楽、「湾岸ミッドナイト」などの映画音楽やDHCなどのCM音楽、そして、 NHKの子供番組「まちかどドレミ」「ニャンちゅうワールド」などの音楽監督を長年担当。キャロルセラをはじめとしたフレンチポップスのプロデュースを多数手掛け、日本のフレンチポップスの仕掛け人としての地位も確立する。

著作は、新潮選書５冊（「音楽はなぜ人を幸せにするのか」など）、NHK新書『オーケストラの秘密』など計９冊。そのどれもが、中学から大学までの国語の入試問題として使われ続けている。

女性ばかりのオーケストラ＜フルムス＞を2001年に創立、同時に、「音楽は介護を救う」というコンセプトのもと「ミュージックホープ」という団体を設立、音楽療法の分野にも積極的に進出し、全国の医療機関、施設などでの講演／演奏活動を行なっている。

みつとみがこれまでのキャリアの中で親交を持ち、師と仰いできた人たちは、フルーティストのMarcel Moyseマルセル・モイーズ氏、指揮者のRobert Bergtロバート・バート氏、そして作曲家の森田公一氏、現代音楽作曲家のWill Gay Bottjeウィル・ゲイ・バッチ氏などである。
